Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Content Study slides for all 40 modules are included with the Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Math digital tools and are designed to empower administrators and teacher-leaders to facilitate and support module and topic studies in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

The educator actions and activities provided in the Content Study slides promote collaboration in PLCs and help foster a supportive teaching environment to support teachers in building a deeper understanding of Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Math.

Standards-Aligned Instruction

Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Math was thoughtfully constructed to focus on key concepts that layer over time. To provide teachers with a clear understanding of when concepts and skills should be mastered according to the TEKS, Great Minds has created Standards Progression documents for Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Math.

This resource provides year-long and module-level roadmaps showing how students will progress towards mastery of the standards to help teachers avoid unnecessarily re-teaching concepts and determine when intervention is necessary.

Coherent Mathematical Models

One of the hallmarks of Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Math is the progression of learning from simple to complex. This strategic progression can be seen through the consistent and coherent use of mathematical models designed to help students build enduring knowledge every step of the way.

Great Minds has created a six-part video series included with the digital tools that detail the progression of mathematical models to help teachers recognize what foundational knowledge has been established prior to introducing more complex problems.

The following example details how the 5-part model progresses throughout Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Math.

Lesson Facilitation Slides
