Coaches from the Eureka Math TEKS Edition team expertly guide educators to apply what they learn in PD sessions to their own classrooms and schools. Through modeling and observation, Great Minds coaches help teachers improve implementation and help leaders develop effective ways to support, understand, and evaluate classroom practices.
For educators in schools and districts considering customized coaching to further support their implementation.
Before selecting a personalized coaching track, school or district leaders must complete Strong Start for Leaders. The three sessions in this series include:
Strategic Planning (3 hours)
Crafting Effective Feedback (90 minutes)
Effective Feedback Conversations (90 minutes)
These sessions provide leaders with the foundational knowledge and skills they need to support teacher development and classroom implementation of Eureka Math TEKS Edition.
Each personalized coaching track includes 5 coaching sessions. After completing Strong Start for Leaders, school district leaders will collaborate with their Eureka Math TEKS Edition coach to select the track that best aligns with their learning priorities.
This coaching series focuses on building teachers’ understanding of the content and its role in the larger math story. Teachers will engage in a transferable process of studying a module, topic, or lesson along with its connection to previous and upcoming content. Guided Observation for Leaders will focus on observation to gather evidence that instruction is focused to develop student conceptual understanding and make coherent content connections. This observational evidence will inform the next steps for the PLCs with teachers.
In this session, a Eureka Math TEKS Edition coach guides up to 10 leaders through classroom observations to establish an understanding of the current state of instruction.
Sessions 2, 3, and 4 focus on offering teachers explicit, personalized guidance from a Eureka Math TEKS Edition coach to meet objectives based on the coaching focus selected.
In this final guided observation, the focus is on observing the impact from the professional learning sessions and plan the next steps for teachers and leaders.
